On his first full day in the US as a US President, the first time he met the family of his late wife, the former US President David Beckham, he took time to thank them for the support they had given him during the course of their marriage.
“I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or if I’ve been blessed or whatever, but it was such a wonderful thing, that it was like a miracle,” he told the assembled media on Tuesday.
“It was wonderful for me and so much more.”
Mr Beckham was also joined by his wife Victoria, his two children and their families as he announced the creation of a new organisation that will serve as a hub for families of the world’s most famous athletes.
The former New York City Mayor, whose first marriage to former New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark ended in 1992, said the new organisation would be dedicated to “celebrating the life and legacy of the greatest athlete in the world”.
“We’re really trying to bring some pride to the whole family,” Mr Beckham said.
“They are the ones that are really going to be able to take care of us and really be able bring us together. “
“When I got married, it was something that was not going to happen in a normal marriage. “
It’s a lot of pressure, but you know what, you get used to it.” “

‘We’re very excited’ After the announcement, Mr Beckham and Victoria Beckham posted a video on Instagram in which they spoke of their plans for the new initiative.
“We are very excited about the future of our family.
I think we have a lot to learn and we’re going to learn,” Victoria Beckham said, according to the Washington Post.
“That’s what we’re here for, to help each other and learn from each other.”
“It’s a family that is going to make us all stronger,” she said.
David Beckham arrives for a news conference in the White House on April 26, 2019, where he will announce the creation on a new, private organisation, which will serve to honour his late husband and his family.
The announcement came days after he became the first US President to visit his wife’s grave, as he returned from his first overseas trip as President.
Mr Beckham will be the first celebrity to visit her grave, in what has been described as a “personal and special visit”.
He is also expected to deliver a speech at her grave on April 30.
“What we have now is a new world,” he said in a speech to reporters on Tuesday, describing the new family as “a family that will always be part of my life”.
“I know that we will always cherish her legacy.”
The former US Prime Minister, who is also the father of his eldest son and is an avid tennis player, was not alone in his admiration for his wife.
“He’s the only person I’ve ever known who could do a million things at once,” Ms Beckham told ABC Radio Melbourne.
“All of the other guys were working on something.
