Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman, who was once the most famous African-American actor in the world, told Breitbart News that the power of diversity can be felt in Hollywood.
Boseman is the son of the late African-Americans actor and director Tommie Smith.
Black Panther is the first film in Bosemans long acting career to be directed by the legendary director Baz Luhrmann, and he is one of the only black actors to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
He said that the success of Black Panther has been driven in large part by the efforts of a diverse cast.
“I think the power that we have is that we all get to share in the success,” he said.
“And I think that that’s really what makes Black Panther so powerful.
We’re all part of the team.”
Bosemen comments echo those of several Black actresses who have been vocal about their support for the movie.
Black actress Jessica Chastain tweeted: “I am so excited for @BlackPanther and I’m so grateful to the team at Marvel and @Disney for the opportunity to star and voice the film.
#BlackPantsCinema” Black actress Amy Adams tweeted: “#BlackPantoil has been one of my favorite movies to be a part of, so I’m thrilled to be working with my fellow Black actors on the upcoming film.
Black Panther is a film about a community of people united in struggle against injustice and oppression.
I am honored to be playing this important role.”
Other actors like Emma Stone, Amy Adams, and Lupita Nyong’o have also been vocal in their support of the movie, tweeting, “I feel the movie is an essential part of our fight for justice.
