A Florida mother has pleaded for help by police after her daughter disappeared and her husband has been charged with child endangerment.
The Associated Press reports that 20-year-old Kristy Lynn Jones told police her 19-yearold daughter disappeared in July from her home in West Palm Beach.
She said she found her daughter in a shallow grave in a culvert behind the house.
The police report said Jones told officers she was worried about her daughter because she was not wearing her pajamas.
Jones said she and her daughter met at a local park.
The girl was alone, Jones said, and they drank beer and talked about her plans for school.
When Jones went to get her daughter, she saw her father standing at the front door with a knife, the report says.
She went inside, but she said she saw no one.
When she went back to the front, Jones says she saw two men standing in the doorway with a handgun.
She ran outside and told her husband to call 911, the police report says, but the husband didn’t hear her.
When she went outside again, she says she was shocked when she saw a man with her daughter on his knees, crying.
She said the men asked her for her phone number and then called her father and her boyfriend.
She says she then heard her daughter scream.
Jones was arrested on a charge of child endangerments.
She told police she didn’t know what had happened to her daughter and said she had lost faith in the justice system.
