1997toto chat software was the go-to chat software for many people back in 1997, and now the company is no longer in business.
Its successor, Chatr, was created in 1998 and was the first software to use a “chat room” as a sort of chat app.
It’s been the most popular chat software ever since, and it was the platform that most people used to connect with people they’d never met.
The company’s founders, Brian, John, and Brian Wilson, started the company in 1997 to make chat software that people could use for personal communication, and they were already making a name for themselves by making software for other companies, such as Microsoft’s Windows 95, AOL’s Chatr and the AOL chat software from the mid-90s.
However, the chat app wars kept going, and in 2000, the company closed its doors, and the Wilson brothers were forced to move on to make a new company called Squeak, which they’d founded in 2003.
Squeake was able to continue making chat software and to keep growing despite the fact that its chat line had gone out of business.
Chatr went out of the business in 2011, and Squeaky went bankrupt in 2015.
