Rapper Killer Joe was a surprise addition to the new MTV Music Awards, where he took home the best rap performance of the night with “I Can’t Take It.”
The “MTV Music Awards” host said that he was excited about the opportunity to share his brand of rap with a younger audience.
“It’s really exciting because I think this is where people are, like, ‘Yo, it’s a different way of doing things, but we’re still here, we’re not like the old generation, so we don’t know how to make a song like this.
We don’t even know how this will sound,” Killer Joe told MTV News.
“I was like, well, I’m just gonna do this rap song.
I think it’s gonna work and I can actually give the kids a different rap experience, because I know how the kids like rap.”
The rapper also said that the new award is a way for him to “celebrate the new generation” and that it was a chance for him and his team to “show how hip-hop is different from everything else.”
Killer Joe also opened up about the upcoming release of his new album, “Rappers,” which he said he “totally” wanted to make after seeing “Shake It Out,” but that it would have taken too long.
“I’m gonna release the album.
It’s not a big thing, because the album is supposed to be a very, very, heavy album,” Killer Mike said.
“But I feel like the time has come for me to release it.
I feel so confident in my ability and I think I feel that way, and it’s just like, I need to get out of the studio, I gotta get out and I need the music to really work.”
